WHEN THE HEN CROWS

_Of Cabals, Of Presidential Disappointments, Of Room Kerfuffle_ For some time now, I have refrained from commenting on certain socio-political issues; many thanks to the threat laden missives that constantly threaten to spill out of my mailbox. Apparently, my seemingly scathing and abrasive style has been raising hackles in certain quarters. But this morning when my wife walked into the room and said, “Baby, it is appointed unto a man to be arrested many times, after that……”, I felt the need to bare my mind on one particular issue. I must state that I have already packed my bags just in case some gun toting, overzealous Sauls of Tarsus decide to break into my house in search of what I did not plant. Thank God I don't have “shingbain” in my house. Neither do I have a wig or robe. God save this country. But let's get to business very quickly. In the course of this past week, the international media was awash with information, allegations, counter allegations, reactions and

God asked me to recover my stolen mandate- Ize-Iyamu

Mr Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the just concluded gubernatorial election in Edo, on Friday said God told him to recover his mandate. Ize-Iyamu said this in Benin while addressing some protesters. He alleged that INEC robbed him and his party the PDP when it announced Mr Godwin Obaseki of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the state governorship election. He said that the alleged robbery of the Edo peoples mandate would not stand, adding that he had been seeking God’s intervention in the past few days. Ize-Iyamu said his supporters had refused to be violent despite the alleged fake result announced by INEC. He said that it was lamentable that those who were given the victory by INEC were ashamed of celebrating the victory. The state PDP Chairman, Mr Dan Orbih, said the party was going to put everything in place to defend democracy. Orbih appealed to protesters to keep the peace while embarking on the street protests, adding that t

Kim Kardashian’s new security detail to costs $100k Daily

Image
Kim Kardashian isn’t taking any chances after  her terrifying robbery in Paris,  but according to security experts, it’s going to cost her spending upwards of 100k EVERY DAY just to be safe. Aaron Jackson, the President of Finest Execution Protection, told E! News that; “Security guards are paid hourly, which can add up fast. While they can bill anywhere from $70 to $125 an hour, what they cost per hour varies on the client and potential threat level”. Considering how famous Kim is and what she just went through, Aaron estimates that Kim, 35, will likely be charged about $150 an hour for every guard she uses. Even though that amount sounds small to what the reality star earns per day, if she’s going to have 30 guards around her like she did when reuniting with Kanye West on Oct. 3, that adds up fast. Inside sources say, Kim will likely want security around her 24/7 — and if she’s paying 30 guards 150/hour, she’s going to cough-out about $108,000 per day!

It Might be the End of an Era for Arsene wenger

Arsenal  CEO Ivan Gazidis has dropped a huge hint that Arsene Wenger may not be the club manager next season. Wenger’s contract expires at the end of the current season and the club is yet to offer the Frenchman a new contract. Addressing the questions regarding Wenger’s future, Gazidis was rather blunt in claiming that Arsenal and Wenger’s future are not the same thing. As quoted by Daily Telegraph, Gazidis said:  "Arsenal is not Arsene Wenger. They're not one and the same thing. What Arsene has done is to capture and understand and embrace the values of the club and enhance them." Gazidis acknowledged the work Wenger has done for Arsenal but the club’s CEO did not shy away from claiming that it might be the last season for Wenger at Emirates. Gazidis added:  "In a football sense, he has transformed the club. But I think from a value standpoint, we've been doing work in our local community for 30 years before Arsene Wenger came to the club.&quo

Reasons we need to buy Nigeria to grow Naira

Each day we all cry and shout about our currency depreciating,  why won't it depreciate when all we do is to buy foreign product leaving our local products to expire and perish. Oh yeah the currency will depreciate when. We leave our hand made shoe and go for Italian shoes, forgetting that these Italian shoes are bought over there with Dollar not naira, this therefore take pull down our currency in the exchange market. Looking at Nigeria tho, the poor go for our locally made while the rich do foreign, I hereby urge us all to: Buy our made in Nigeria car (innson motors and others)  these cars are specially made for the Nigeria roads Buy our locally made rice,  these rice are low on starch and gives a better health than foreign rice which we don't know what chemicals they use to store it. Buy our locally made clothes instead of the foreign materials. These specialization of foreign clothes have brought doom to our textile mill in Nigeria,  for example in Edo State we

Niger: NYSC extends service year of 24 corps members

The National Youth Service Corps has extended the service year of 24 members of the 2015 Batch ‘B’ Stream One in Niger. The scheme’s Coordinator in Niger, Mrs. Bolade Loto, made this known on Thursday at the passing out ceremony of the batch in Minna. Loto said the affected corps members had their service year extended because of their continuous absence from their places of primary assignments. She said 10 corps members received State Merit Award, while 10 others received commendation letters for initiating projects that impacted on the lives of the people. She also disclosed that two corps members died in the course of the service year. She said that a total of 2,193 corps members completed the year successfully, noting that the passing out ceremony was low key as members were just asked to collect their certificates at the various local government councils.

NIGERIA OH MY NIGERIA

For those of us saying people lament about this country alot I say well done: Why won't we complain when a Nigerian feed  below a dollar a day,  is this the Nigeria of our dream? Why won't we complain when the "Giant of Africa" is turning into the "small boy of Africa? Why won't we complain when our politicians play politics of my Belle only I.E politics of me and my family. Why won't we complain when the wrong person is holding a position in a field he know nothing about, instead of learning, they turned our country to their personal business. Why won't we complain when the law is made to punish the poor only and mercy the rich. Why won't we complain when political position goes round a family like the earth going round. Why won't we complain when some region are pardon, they kill and we say it's not a threat to National security and other region are been faced. Why won't we complain when the country is said to be in R

Ghana begins fuel exports to Nigeria, others

By Ediri Ejoh with Agency Report  Ghana has started exporting fuel and gas oil to the landlocked countries of Burkina Faso, Niger and Mali from the Bolgatanga Petroleum Depot.  The state-owned Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company (BOST) Limited, is also supplying petroleum products from the same depot to Benin Republic and Nigeria.  Ghana’s Minister of Petroleum, Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, who made this known at the meet-the-press series in Accra, said there were plans to extend the exports to Liberia in the coming months.  The minister said the vision of the government was to make Ghana the hub for the distribution of petroleum products in the West African sub-region.  The Bolgatanga Petroleum Depot, with a capacity of 46 million litres of refined gasoline and gas oil, was re-inaugurated in August 2015. Buah said Ghana had been ushered into a new gas era that would guarantee its energy security for the next two decades.  “Despite the global downturn in the oil in

Arise Oh Compatriot!

Nigeria, my beloved country, is a theatre of absurdities where actors and actresses of various grades and pedigree strut the stage, delivering performances that leave the audience totally captivated. Sometimes, these performances are very impressive and other times, they are downrightly appalling. It is quite disheartening that the culture of impunity, corruption and gross ineptitude has reached its apogee in this country. Still, the national anthem and pledge, the most important symbols of our entity, seem to taunt us on a daily basis. Little wonder some of our ambassadors stuttered when they were asked to recite the anthem and pledge. But who would blame them? How does one swear and reiterate allegiance to a system that milks the citizenry dry and gives nothing in return? It is very difficult to love a country where we reap the consequences of corruption, ineptitude, greed and impunity of political leaders as well as the redundancy of the led. Yes! You and I have a share of the

Nigeria Must Divide!

My friend, I have thought about what you told me the last time we discussed. Quite frankly, I agree with you that Nigeria is plagued by certain demons. I also agree with you that, to an extent that some of Nigeria's problems are predicated on the multiplicity of her ethnic groups and of course, the religious bias whose cataclysmic impacts have reached their apogee. But you see, my friend, like I told you the last time, the issue of Nigeria's division is a conundrum that must be tactfully handled.  Nigeria must divide you say, but I must ask you just one question. Along which lines shall we divide? Don't think I have no answers to that question. But we cannot discuss such matters while standing like Israelites taking the Passover feast before leaving Egypt. Come sit with me let's discuss over this keg of palm wine and pieces of fried meat. Oh, don't worry about the heat. I have hand fans made from raffia. Just sit while the maid serves us. Now that you have settl
