The National Youth Service Corps has extended the service year of 24 members of the 2015 Batch ‘B’ Stream One in Niger. The scheme’s Coordinator in Niger, Mrs. Bolade Loto, made this known on Thursday at the passing out ceremony of the batch in Minna. Loto said the affected corps members had their service year extended because of their continuous absence from their places of primary assignments. She said 10 corps members received State Merit Award, while 10 others received commendation letters for initiating projects that impacted on the lives of the people. She also disclosed that two corps members died in the course of the service year. She said that a total of 2,193 corps members completed the year successfully, noting that the passing out ceremony was low key as members were just asked to collect their certificates at the various local government councils.
