Match day 2

Egypt Vs Uruguay.

Egypt national team coach Hector Cuper, Thursday, categorically declared revelation of the year, Muhammed Salah "fit enough" for a spot in the team to face South American opponents, Uruguay, in their opening fixture of the Russia 2018 world cup. Exactly how much playing time Mo' Salah would get us not clear as yet, having suffered that heart melting injury in the champions league final, but one sure thing is that the match between the north Africans and the South Americans would make for an interesting one. Both teams possess world beaters, and if Salah does feature, then the 35,000 seater capacity Ekaterinburg stadium would see three of the World's deadliest finishers in world football on parade.

Egypt world cup fate rests squarely on the shoulders- the left shoulder specifically- of the 42 goal liverpool sensation. The ex Roma man would epitomise the Pharaohs success, or otherwise, at this year's mundial, as their would cup journey would have a direct correlation as to whether or not Salah is able to get the chips off his shoulders (literally) in time to boost their chances of progressing from the group stage. The left footed wing whiz kid was very instrumental in their qualification process, scoring the all decisive goals, particular the one against Uganda, to book their place in the world cup proper.

The Egyptians, who would be playing in thier first FIFA world cup in twenty years, are tipped at an astonishing @7.50 odds to get the win over their south American opponents.

On the other hand however, what Egypt have in Mo' Salah, steady world cup campaigners, Uruguay, have got it two times in Paris st. Germain Edison Cavani and Barcelona striker,  Luis Suarez, who would be buzzing to leave his mark at this year's world cup. Whilst Salah boasts a record breaking 32 premier league goals last season, his south American counterparts had registered a combined league total of 53 goals. In the world cup qualifying series, Suarez and Cavani got a combined total of 16 goals to guarantee them a second spot finish, just behind the highly impressive Brazilians. They are unsurprisingly pit @1.54 odds to snatch all three points on offer, at the Ekaterinburg stadium, on Friday.

Although a tantalising odd of 3.70 is set for the match to end in a draw, the vastly more experienced South Americans are overwhelming favourites to claim all three points on offer. Backed with an impressive forward line, Oscar Tabarez' men also posses a world class defence line forged under the tutelage of Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid. In Diego Godin and Gimenez, they possess two of the best central defenders in world football at the moment. However, same cannot be said of the Egyptian side, whose most successful defensive export is West Brom's Hamed Hegazi, recently relegated with his club from the English to division.

Writer's Prediction.

Although the Egyptians, with a fully fit Mo' Salah, could pose a scare for the south Americans, experience counts a great deal in matches such as these. The Pharaohs would huff and puff, but Luis Suarez and his team mates would just do enough to see them claim all three points.

Egypt 0 vs Uruguay 2
