We’re working on Buhari’s 2019 return
The special adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on social media, Lauretta Onochie, Saturday said that ‘We’re working on Buhari’s return to power in 2019’.
Lauretta Onochie Newsmen report that the support drum beaten for Buhari’s return has become publicly known even though he has not declared interest to contest for 2019 presidential election.
Recall that Gov. Elrufai of Kaduna state has stated in an interview with the State House correspondents after he visited President Buhari that he will support Buhari for second tenure if he (Buhari) decides to contest the 2019 presidential election.
He made the remark while reacting to the statement credited to Senator Aisha Alhassan, minister for women affairs.
According to her, “If am to chose between Atiku and Buhari if both contest for the forthcoming 2019 presidential election, I will support Atiku”. However El-Rufai in his response said that ‘Sen. Alhassan does not believe in President Muhammadu Buhari’s political ideology and that she voted against the President during the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential primaries.’
Fielding question on the comments by the Minister of Women Affairs, he said, “The Minister of Women Affairs Jummai Alhassan has been in the Students Union. In the APC she has never been in the Buhari camp, she did not support our candidates during the National Convention, she didn’t vote for Buhari during the Primaries. “But out of largeness of the President’s heart and to encourage women in politics, he felt that even though she was never a supporter of his politics nor his believes or ideologies, and what she has tried to do in Taraba, he felt she earned being nominated as a minister.’
The governor said that many of the followers of the President opposed the nomination of Hajia Alhassan but the President ignored the opposition and went ahead to appoint her in the Federal Executive Council. He said, “Many in Buhari camp did not support it but he overruled everybody because that is how he is, he tries to be inclusive, he considers every Nigerian his own son or daughter and he nominated her to be minister.
“Her comments are not surprising, she has never been a supporter, she has never believed in Buhari ideology. So, I am not surprised and as a Nigerian, as an individual she has every right to express her views and support whoever she wants. “But what I am saying is Nigerians should not be surprised or shocked. This has always been her position because from time she has never supported Buharism or what Buhari stands for.
Similarly, Lauretta Onochie via her tweeter handle wrote, “We’re working on Buhari’s 2019 return. Buharism is what Buhari Stands for -El-Rufai “I am a Buharist. WHO ARE YOU-Lauretta Onochie” “when a farmer finds a fertile land, he cultivates it a second time – Anioma Proverb”, she finally wrote.
